Katie Johnson and Ashley Larson attended the National Association of Minority & Women Owned Law Firms (“NAMWOLF”) 2019 Driving Diversity and Leadership Conference in New Orleans on February 16-20. NAMWOLF’s mission is to “promote diversity in the legal profession by fostering successful relationships among preeminent minority and women owned law firms and private/public entities.”
Ashley Larson participated in the panel discussion, “Workplace Active Shooters: Lawyers Preparing For and Responding to the Unimaginable.” The panel addressed proactive steps to prepare for and mitigate risk, such as employee training, appropriate response measures, working effectively with law enforcement, issuing coordinated public relations responses, addressing employee mental wellness needs, incident investigation, and evidence preservation.
Katie Johnson participated in the panel discussion, “Securing the Scene – The Trial Lawyer’s Role in Crisis Management.” The panel addressed a trial lawyer’s value during the first 48 hours of a crisis, including how on-scene investigations, evidence preservation, and issue-spotting can improve outcomes in high-exposure cases.
The firm looks forward to the NAMWOLF 2019 Annual Meeting in Los Angeles in September!
