About Matt

Matt has been defending insurance companies and their insureds for his entire legal career.  His practice has included bad faith, auto and premises liability, products liability, and construction and commercial matters, and he has defended numerous cases involving catastrophic injuries and multi-million-dollar property damages.  Matt is also well-versed in subrogation, insurance fraud, and insurer-agency business disputes, and has brought numerous actions on behalf of insurance companies when necessary.

Prior to moving to Colorado, Matt practiced in both state and federal courts for a large regional insurance defense firm in the Midwest, where he was born and raised.

Outside of the office, Matt enjoys hiking, triathlon, cooking with his wife, and relaxing with their dogs.

• Settled multimillion catastrophic personal injury lawsuit involving a large light fixture that fell on a mall patron for less than 5% of claim amount after getting Plaintiff’s liability expert struck
• Attained dismissal of multimillion-dollar wrongful death lawsuit after in-depth pre-suit investigation and aggressive early discovery absolved client of any liability
• Obtained summary judgment in personal injury case involving a toppling headstone
• Obtained summary judgment for clients’ alleged failure to supervise their minor son who was accused of dragging another boy with a car
• Obtained partial summary judgment in commercial contract dispute between trucking companies over damage to trailers
