Karlee Janigian is an associate attorney at Sutton | Booker | P.C.. Karlee has tried over 70 criminal jury trials to verdict and countless trials to the court in Colorado and Florida. Karlee’s practice is devoted to defending individuals and corporations, insurance companies and their insureds from pre-litigation investigation through litigation. This includes allegations of bad faith in both auto and property claims. Karlee defends individuals in personal injury cases no matter the claims alleged. She focuses on Premises Liability, Auto, Defamation, Wrongful Death and Property Law. She also has experience in Construction Defect, Real Estate Disclosure, Fraud and Misrepresentation, and Contracts.

Karlee grew up in south Florida where she attended Florida International University and the University of Miami School of Law. During law school, she was a law school ambassador, recipient of the Hope Pro Bono Challenge Award, and Secretary of both the Criminal Law Society and Real Estate, Trust, and Probate Law Society. Karlee had a concentration in litigation skills during her time in law school, honing real world experience prior to becoming an Assistant State Attorney in Orlando Florida. As an Assistant State Attorney, Karlee tried punishable by life offenses through trial, including felony child abuse, kidnapping, felony battery, and other acts of domestic violence.

Karlee gained extensive trial and motions practice experience during her time as a prosecutor in Florida and Colorado prior to transitioning to civil law. Prior to joining Sutton | Booker | P.C., Karlee prosecuted and defended construction defect litigation, fraud, defamation, breach of contract, protection orders, and other real estate and construction matters on behalf of homeowners and contractors. No matter the issue, Karlee enjoys providing zealous advocacy on behalf of her clients.

  • Successfully obtained dismissal of bad faith claims against insurer based on early investigation into pre-suit claim handling and agreements between the insured and insurer.
  • Successfully defeated claims for defamation on motion to dismiss based on CO Anti-SLAPP statute and Statute of Limitations.
  • Discovered and proved up arguments regarding lack of duty in a premises liability action resulting in favorable settlement for contractor client.
  • Conducted various negotiations regarding lack of damages resulting in favorable settlements.
  • Prevailed in motions practice regarding nondelegable duty in construction defect claims.
