About Lily

Lily defends clients in matters involving UM/UIM bad faith, property damage bad faith, coverage and indemnity, and premises liability. Lily focuses on trying to resolve cases early and efficiently. Where that is not possible, she develops the strongest factual and legal foundation to position the case for a favorable settlement or trial outcome. Lily enjoys complex legal analysis and has briefed and won a number of dispositive motions and has successfully tried cases in state and federal court including a recent federal jury trial during COVID.

  • Obtained a complete defense verdict in favor of a retail client in federal court in Premises Liability Act matter involving a slip and fall on water.
  • Authored a successful motion for summary judgment in favor of insurance client in case involving breach of contract and bad faith claims arising out of a property insurance dispute in federal court.
  • Authored a successful motion to dismiss in favor of an insurance client for failure to plead colorable breach of contract and common law and statutory bad faith claims pertaining to property insurance dispute in federal court.
  • Obtained a defense verdict in favor of a third-party insured client in state court in case involving breach of contract and premises liability act claims.
  • Obtained favorable outcome in discovery dispute over neuropsychologist’s raw data.

Lily is a native Minnesotan who has called Colorado home since 2015. Prior to joining Sutton | Booker, P.C., Lily was an associate with a Denver firm that specialized in insurance defense and litigating complex technology disputes. While in law school, Lily competed on a national moot court team and was an editor on the Minnesota Journal of International Law.

When not working, Lily enjoys skiing, hiking, training her rescue dog, and fixing up her 1901 Cheesman Park home with her fiancé. She serves on the board of directors of Global Seed Savers, a nonprofit that promotes food sovereignty.

  • Obtained judgment for client on a motion for post-judgment relief following trial in U.S. District Court involving F.L.S.A. claims.
  • Authored a successful motion for summary judgment in a Premises Liability Act case.
  • Argued and won a motion for sanctions related to a discovery dispute in a contract action.
  • Successfully defended a client against an action for pre-judgment possession of equipment.
  • Authored a motion to exclude the opinions of an expert in accident reconstruction, resulting in partial exclusion of opinions leading to favorable settlement.

Lily practices before federal and state courts and has experience in all stages of litigation including investigation and early assessment of liability and damages, depositions, expert discovery, motions practice, mediation, trial and appeals.
